Managing Option Positions

Tradervue has long supported options trades, and we continue to expand our integration with various brokers and platforms used by options traders. However, some brokers and platforms do not provide data for expired or exercised/assigned options in their export files. This omission can make it challenging for Tradervue to accurately track the status of these options.

To address this, we previously used the Generic Import Format to manually enter execution data and make necessary adjustments. This process was both time-consuming and prone to errors.

Execution Editor and Option Management

We now offer an efficient way to manage open option contracts directly within Tradervue. Here’s how you can use this feature:

  1. Open a Trade: Go to your Trade in the Trades section.
  2. Access the Execution Section: Scroll down to the Executions section and locate the three-dot menu on the right side.
  3. Manage Options: If your trade includes open options, from the dropdown menu, you’ll see a “Manage Options” button. Click on this button to view a summary of your open option contracts.

  1. Adjust Options: The Execution Editor will open, pre-filled with the contract name and the quantity needed to close the leg. You can modify any of the data, such as setting the price to zero for expired options, editing the date, and then saving the changes.

This feature simplifies the management of your open option positions, making it much easier to ensure your trade records are accurate.
